This Privacy Policy explains how bidbetter.lol ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit our website, click on ranking listings, or claim a rank on the leaderboard. It sits alongside our Terms of Service.
Who is responsible
The controller for personal data processed through the Service is James Wangjen, an individual based in India.

What we collect
We value privacy and keep the Service lean. We collect only what we need to operate the ranking board, process your rank claims, limit click abuse, and understand basic site traffic.
- Visitor identifier: A random, anonymous ID stored in a strictly necessary cookie named
bidbetter-visitor-idfor up to one year. We use this solely to match a checkout flow to a browser session, prevent duplicate click counters, and protect against bot spam. It does not identify your real name or personal identity. - Checkout and listing data: The URL or handle you submit, the category, rank number, payment amount, brand name, description, and the public logo or profile avatar we resolve for that handle. We save payment confirmation identifiers provided by Dodo Payments (such as order and checkout IDs) to assign the rank.
- Payment data: Your credit card details, cardholder name, and billing identity are processed directly by Dodo Payments, not by us. We do not store or collect full card details. Please refer to Dodo Payments' own privacy policy for details.
- Clicks: When you click a listing on the leaderboard, we record the target URL, timestamp, visitor ID, and a hashed IP address. This helps us count unique clicks, identify click-fraud, and limit abuse; it is not used to build behavior profiles.
- Technical data: Standard connection parameters (such as user-agent metadata, referring website, and IP address) are processed by our hosting provider to load the site securely and prevent cyberattacks.
- Correspondence: If you contact us via email, we store that conversation to respond to your request and keep legal records.
Cookies
Our visitor-ID cookie is strictly necessary for security and core tracking. We do not place cookies for advertising or third-party behavioral profiling. Analytics on the Service are cookie-less. We may also store your visual theme preference (light or dark mode) in your local browser storage.
Why we use this data
- Contract: To deliver listing spaces, display your link on the board, and process rank claims that you buy.
- Legitimate interests: To keep the bidding board fair (including rate-limiting clicks and blocking bot automations), debug software outages, and defend our legal rights.
- Legal obligation: To comply with tax, bookkeeping, accounting, and government reporting requirements where applicable.
Public listings
All rankings, bid amounts, names, descriptions, URLs, handles, and avatars displayed on the leaderboard are completely public. Anyone—including search engine crawlers—can view them. We fetch public metadata (such as profile photos from X, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and favicons from websites) automatically so visitors can recognize listings. Please do not submit details you do not want publicly visible.
Who we share data with
- Dodo Payments: Checkout, checkout flow security, and payment transactions.
- Infrastructure providers: Database and hosting services (including Vercel and hosting platforms) that power the website.
- Identity lookup APIs: Public directory utilities (such as Unavatar.io) used to dynamically fetch profile pictures and website icons during the checkout preview.
- Professional advisers & authorities: If required to comply with Indian/international laws, enforce our Terms, or resolve legal claims.
How long we keep it
- Visitor cookies expire automatically after one year.
- Leaderboard listing entries, bid histories, and checkout confirmation records are archived indefinitely for accounting, tracking, and historical ranking purposes.
- Click telemetry logs and hashed IP values are deleted or anonymized once click audit verification is complete.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under the GDPR or other local privacy laws to access, correct, export, restrict, or delete your personal details. If you wish to exercise these rights or request the deletion of a public card listing, please contact us at contact@bidbetter.lol. Note that removing a listing does not refund completed transaction fees.
Children
The Service is intended solely for adult users. We do not knowingly collect personal details from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal details, contact us and we will promptly purge that information.
